Spiced Kentucky Mule

I'm not really a bourbon drinker, but my handsome hubs is. So anytime I can find a cocktail we both enjoy, it's winner. This is light and refreshing but warming at the same time. Great for sitting next to a fire. I use honey-cinnamon syrup in this one, it's also used in my Spiced Pear Champagne cocktail, which you can find here.

1.5 oz bourbon of choice

.5 oz triple sec or Cointreau

.5 oz lime juice

.75 oz honey-cinnamon syrup (recipe below)

3 oz ginger beer

lime slices

orange slices

cinnamon stick

1. Combine bourbon, Cointreau, lime juice, syrup and ginger beer in a mixing glass.

2. Stir for 45 seconds.

3. Fill rocks glass with ice and strain over ice.

4. Garnish with citrus slices and a cinnamon stick.

Cinnamon Honey Simple Syrup

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup water

2 cinnamon sticks

Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pot and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow too cool. Remove cinnamon sticks and store in the fridge.
